Our weather has been off kilter, too. We had a couple of winters with no freezing at all. We did have one last year. And we’ve already had a couple of below-30 nights.

I don't even know you and I'm impressed. I would be throwing money at that problem instead of even trying to do it myself.
(From a person who used a bike for transportaion when she has lived on instant mac and chees with a can of peas and a can of tuna tossed in. Granted, it was very long ago.)

I don't hate it. I follow some specific garden subs and 3 local groups (NC, Triangle and Durham. NObody posts on the Mebane sub.) And fun stuff like space, architecture and paredolia. You can really refine it to what you're willing to submit yourself too.

I know a woman who, at 84 years old, had her rent raised so high that she was living in her car. Fortunately, her daughter was able to move her into her apartment where she slept on a sofa until that lease ran out and they're moving to a place with a bedroom for her.

Here, I think the shortest leases are 6 month and, if you don't want to commit to that long, you pay extra for it to be month to month. That's usually done when you get to the end of a lease and are planning to move. But, every time you re-sign, it can go up with no limit on how much.

That's evil.
