Because dinner is delayed - partly because of phone calls and partly because I always forget how long it takes to do Big Cooking in a very small kitchen - here's SCTV's Liberace Christmas Special, featuring Andrea Martin as Ethel Merman and John Candy as Orson Welles:

Our coffee maker gave out this week, but I keep a extras on hand as backup, after the economic weirdness we've had. So I cleaned up a Mr. Coffee 6-cup unit w/ timer, count it as an early presnet.
Parent tried it out today with the timer, and loved it: one less thing to fuss with.
Screw Black Friday.

Just scheduled another 6 or so months worth of Thunderbirds disaster movie videos, taking us til mid summer :)

So, expect everything from Threads to The End of the World (the 1916 film that stared the disaster genre) to even Moonfall.

Yeah, so BTW, I did do a review of a Thanksgiving movie last year, and if you haven't given it a listen, I encourage you to.
I've been really sleep deprived the past two weeks, so I'm trying to just catch-up a bit while things are so perfectly quiet.
The Forgotten John Hughes Classic by Bowler Brim
In this special Thanksgiving episode, we'll examine a cult favorite from the late writer of some of America's favorite movies.

I saw the first four episodes, and it was really satisfying. They did some good character development for the cast, and the setting is really great for the final episodes of the series. The cast is bringing their A-game, too.
The final season of ‘Stranger Things’ premieres today.

Watching Taskmaster NZ and seeing Paul Williams "give birth" to Angela is mpreg content, and I'm here for it. Mpreg is such a beautiful thing. Pregnant trans men are beautiful, and the images of pregnant cis men are also beautiful.

DCUO allows for five characters now, which means I could re-create my favorite lost character, top hatted & mustachioed villain Doctor Phaustus Fobium.
I cooked him up ages ago as an absolutely terribly cliched villain whose catchphrases make no sense, like he's just trying too hard.

They hid the damn giblet pouch on the turkey way too well. I was fishing around for the thing and couldn't find it.

It would have been problematic, as Stevenson didn't write sequels to Treasure Island. He wrote many adventure novels that fired up the imagination, but even thought sequel films were made, they were never canon to the text.
There was a character in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 named for Jim's father.
Treasure Planet 2 (unproduced): The Centurion, art by Emil Mitev

It's all the more unfortunate that Treasure Planet didn't find its audience, as it was conceived as the beginning of a saga. A sequel was already in pre-production before being canceled a few days after the film's disastrous release.

The internet slowed to a crawl today, partly due to weather, partly due to demand on local servers. So, it is a good thing I believe in physical media.
Watching the old school GI Joe.
It turns out that unlike in the Rise of Cobra movie, all you needed was a stooge and a bunch of toadies that had their agenda set out in large print, and they'd be handed run of the gov't to end democracy.
Now we know how Cobra got all those henchmen.

Remember folks, it's not OK to force someone to be affectionate, whether they're a date or family. If someone doesn't feel like a hug or kiss, and is pulling away, don't push it.
Guess what happened to me.
