nothing that hasn't been discussed before but i still wanted to share
the reason why eitkei work so well in multiple routes and have so many intertwining themes is bc they have the potential to understand each other, which makes it more painful when takumi won't try. sometimes he's so deep into his self-justification and the notion that hes normal and a ''good leader'' that he'll oppose eito without trying to understand (thus committing the same mistakes over and over again), and this must be so, so frustrating for eito LIKE. maybe im entering delusional territory but its really interesting from the lenses of eitkei both being very likely neurodivergent (eito is canon but there's loads of symptoms for takumi across routes) but takumi being under the false pretense that HE is normal, he is not like eito i feel like this is a surprisingly common occurence for young neurodivergent people that i dont see people talk about enough? especially in a world where so many of these symptoms are demonized, theres a fear of being like that, of belonging to that group instead of the ''normal'' people from the eyes of society. especially after seeing the stuff eito has put the group through, it's understandable for takumi to put himself in a morally higher position and refuse any semblance between them two (MEitos comes to mind whenever i think about this). but in doing this, he's replicating the same behaviors (rejecting someone else in favor of seeing yourself as correct) and the way takumi treats eito gets so much sadder and awful to see when you keep this in mind (esp in routes like COA or E3). he rejects all of this in favor of 'friendship' and having a 'normal youth' but by doing this he's striping eito of everything he knows, he's rejecting him as a person, and in turn he's rejecting himself as a person too. because rejecting and denying eito instead of confronting him is the same thing as doing that to himself- because the problem isnt eito himself at that point, but the denial and self-reaffirming behaviors.
