In a back channeled "offer" to the International Criminal Court, the United States proposed dropping sanctions on ICC officials if the Court

•Dropped charges on Israeli officials and pledged not to indict anymore
•Stopped investigating crimes in Afghanistan
•Amended the ICC treaty

the ICC said: no
Exclusive: ICC shuns US demands to drop Israel war crimes probe and amend treaty
Washington also called for end to Afghanistan investigation and change to Rome Statute in return for lifting sanctions

It is an absolutely delightful irony that the richest man in the world is universally acknowledged to be a huge fucking loser who not a single living person envies in any way at all
Remember folks: if you have any small amount of artistic talent, any sex appeal, or can make your friends laugh, the richest man on earth is crying screaming throwing up because he can’t be you.

people like Sabrina Carpenter saying essentially "decent people don't want the stench of ICE or this White House anywhere near them" to an audience of millions that includes a lot of young people helps empower them against ICE while reminding ICE agents that everyone hates them, both big wins
look deleting the post is obviously stopping the actual ICE raids but every single bit of pushback matters bsky.app/profile/airb...

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Also USPS didn't loss money because it doesn't make money because it's not a business and if never makes money to begin with.

It did however deliver over 112.5 billion pieces of mail in 2024 and that doesn't even include packages.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

Really struggling to determine which awful Trump administration policy will kill more people

The illicit war brewing with Venezuela, the RFK anti-vaccination CDC panel (which just recommended against Hepatitis B shots for newborns) or stripping away healthcare insurance from millions of Americans
Slotkin: "If there's an idea that we're gonna go start a land war against Venezuela -- and just remember, the military of Venezuela is not comparable to the military of the US -- if we're gonna do that, then that should come to Congress."

I am going to start caring about USPS "losing" money* when you also start reporting similar things for road maintenance.

Governmental services are not for profit businesses.

(*I will care about the USPS losing money if by that you mean that they are losing mail that contains checks or the like.)

I sincerely hope we get to the point in which all MAGA swag is treated as nazi paraphernalia and the only place you will be able to buy it is at a sketchy booth exiled to the very back of a flea market.
At some loint, this has to end in a patriotic display of brutal mob violence.

Years later, so many fake parts than the actual remains. Buckets of teeth. At least sixteen skulls. We have Antiques Roadshow telling folks that sorry, that Trump Femur they got from gran-gran is actually from a coyote.

And these thorough, well-reasoned opinions also often get cited in the future, when a different SCOTUS later gets asked to reconsider the same question
It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

Charity is great, but research the charity.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.
