I've never understood why toasters seem to have a system whereby a perfectly cooked item is found at a precisely calibrated point somewhere between 1.68 and 1.69 on the dial, but the scale goes up to 10.

I had a similar problem a few years ago where I had to go through the ISP troubleshooting script despite being able to see that the lead-in cable had been literally removed.

The literal answer is that it stops the NBN level 3 support from having to field thousands of calls from people who _don't_ know that a cloudflare error when they try to get to their favourite site means it isn't an NBN problem.
