I agree with you on f so far, and, in the event I end up not liking it, "f that game" is a glorious low-hanging fruit

What's silly is I have the OG hardware + disc around, but no compatible screen with headphone output that isn't the family TV (per not wanting the kids to watch). So, I ended up doing the Enhanced Edition as a workaround 😂 (I'd also recommend; sure, low-res in 4:3 is the most legit, but EE is solid)

That's the one that interests me more, but I have such a bad mental backlog, I'm kinda going in order here 😂 And I saw GOG has the new release of Silent Hill 4, so we may be in trouble

(And just to state directly, I don't think this means the work in the new one is bad. For example, as an audio person, there's a fundamental difference between the abstract, lo-fi surrealism of the original SFX, and the new immersive spatial audio. Just saying "not the same," not good/bad)

It's that same feeling of, "ugh but you're missing the entire gist" when I heard friends playing Metroid: Samus Returns or new RE4 instead of the originals, with the assumption they would finally "see why the original was well-regarded." I might end up liking SH2Remake, but it ain't "it."
