My blog can be found here - lots of extracts from my thesis, as well as some pieces looking at social realism(Alan Clarke, especially).

I have found myself having read (or listened to) 6 of Benjamin Myers' books over the last couple of years, and can't recommend this one enough. Beautiful prose throughout and Ineson is a bloody good rep...erm, narrator.

Do read Pig Iron, though, as it's even better.
I'm told that The Offing is part of Audible's Big Summer Sale for £2.99 from June 6th 2025.

I mean...ordinarily £2.99 gets you nowt these days, does it?

It's read by the inimitable Ralph Ineson (The Office, Chernobyl, The Gallows Pole etc).

First conference for a good while at @horrorstudies.bsky.social last week, and really enjoyed the quality of the papers, and I have to say, as a very fussy vegetarian it was the best conference food I’ve encountered.
Inspired to research and write outside of my thesis constraints.
