The UK cultural sector is a major success story, and - among other things - an important source of soft power. So important that the right balance of #innovation and fairness / equity is struck, especially with regards preserving access to creative processes and imagination for young people.

I also write in more detail about this in my book, God-like: a 500-Year History of Artificial Intelligence in Myths, Machines, Monsters. Grab a copy from your local bookshop, or mine :)

...but can understand how best to thrive alongside these new technologies as they look to consume more and more of our work, and our being.

Was a privilege to be involved in the research and publication of this work from @ifow.org and others, focusing on a way ahead. www.ifow.org/publications...

This is my cousin Susan, who still lives in the area and - like so many others - sees through the BS and bluster of their new local MP. Sadly, he doesn’t seem to give a crap about actually addressing problems, just exploit them for personal political gain.

Read the report and survey results here. One clear takeaway - if we allow #tech to impact talent pipelines and the routes to better #skills, that would be a very serious case of lopping off our own legs. bectu.org.uk/bectu-big-su...
