Is this the same Europe that boasts Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes and Erling Haaland among its ranks? 🤨

I am far from a fan of this government, but this just shows how the right controls the media narrative. I mean, yes: freezing thresholds, in real terms, means peoople will pay more tax over time. But as a matter of fact they have not broken that promise.
From what you have seen and heard about yesterday's government Budget, do you think Labour have or have not kept their promise not to increase income tax, VAT or National Insurance?

Have kept it: 16%
Have not kept it: 57%

Guys (UK media and electorate), you can tell yourselves whatever you like, but don’t tell me that someone who threw around the N word in the 90s, has been accused by dozens of former classmates of making regular racist and antisemitic slurs, and who addresses far right rallies isn’t a vile fascist

This is how we do journalism - by not allowing those in power to wriggle out of answering uncomfortable questions. Fearless and relentless in pursuit of truth.

Is it possible that the entire nation of Scotland managed to talk itself into believing the Greek national side is better than it is? An imposter syndrome performance for 60 minutes followed by almost complete domination. Felt like the players went out there hoping for a point.

Turning into a bit of a shotshow, Juric at Atalanta, to be honest. Getting involved in an argument with Lookman after subbing him off 😩

Absolutely sensational St Mirren!!! Bossed it from start to finish. [looks up Lisbon to Glasgow flights for 14 December 🏆] 🏁🇾🇪🏁 🇾🇪

Not sure what Juric is saying to these Atalanta players, but they’re playing like shadows of their former selves. Udinese completely outpressed and outplayed La Dea. I expected a big drop-off from Gasperini levels, but this is becoming very tough viewing every week.

Amid all the gloom - genuinely quite encouraged by signs of a progressive fightback in some countries. Mamdani in NYC, UK Greens surging in the polls, Wilders’ party losing almost 1/3 of its seats, Chega getting half its anticipated share in Portuguese local elections. A glimmer of hope?

I’m with Ian on this one. Sadly - because I am 100% aware it firmly cements my middle agedness.
I sort of appreciate the need to keep up with the times but I simply refuse to wear socks with shorts. I cannot bring myself to do it, too many years of firm belief that it is a travesty have made me unable to change. They will take my no-show socks from my cold dead fingers.

Really, really entertaining game of football between St Mirren and Hearts tonight. Still slightly outraged at Saints’ third goal being chalked off, but a draw probably a fair result in the end. Great advert for Scottish football.

It drives me mad seeing TV panels full or racist Reform politicians

“Weapons grade public racism” is the only accurate way to describe what UK audiences have been subjected to in recent weeks
Off the top of my head, there have been four egregious examples of weapons grade public racism in the last couple of weeks - Jenrick; the Express hack; Captain Concrete & the Reform woman. The way they are treated by employers, punters & wider media, will directly influence how much more we see.

Still a long way from having Hearts as title favourites, but I don’t think it can be denied now that they’ve made themselves title contenders

Let’s not talk about what it felt like being a supporter of St Mirren and Atalanta yesterday. Genuinely delighted to see Billy Gilmour building some confidence in Napoli’s win against Inter, and excited at the potential of a Scottish title race featuring a club from outwith the old firm.
