My experience shows many of them also don't understand autism or complex layered disabilities either. Dealing with NDIS is soul crushing.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

You're totally right - just having to get out of bed means the 'well I'm up now' brain kicks in and I might get some of those lost mornings back to do something much more enjoyable!

I definitely think you're right that it's about habit - and I've often found it's shocking how quickly a new habit can replace an old one so I think I just need to jump in. First step - phone charge out of reach of my bed!

In my experience, characters who are explicitly autistic in media are beloved by NT's and ridiculed by ND's 99% of the time

Whereas ND's look at a character who is just autistic coded/wouldn't be clocked as autistic to NT's and go "Ah yes: me"
