Had high hopes for this one (chef can bring back ghosts via food? Yes, please.) but the execution fell flat. Feels like it wants to be a short story. Spent too much of its wordcount journeying from plongeur to chef. Extraneous characters. Climax is almost entirely in summary. 📚💙 #Booksky #bookreview

Oh my gosh. #Laufey, y’all. Her new album #AMatterofTime is a genre-defying delight. Pop/Jazz/Bossa Nova/Alternative (& a little punk) goodness. Do yourself a favor and check it out on your favorite streamer (you local library prob. offers it free on Freegal).

Netflix, I’ll take my meeting for that sequel now.

But instead of infectious pop music and swords, we’ll just explain the underlying causes of the Boer War or the hidden genius of They Might Be Giants until the demons get bored and leave. #kpdh #kpopdemonhunters

Utterly gobsmacked at booking dot com using only #Yankee fans in its latest #MLB commercial push.
Really going hard to corner the insufferable frontrunner demographic.

About halfway through #CarelessPeople (new Facebook memoir), and lemme tell you, I’m DESPERATE for Fincher to buy the rights and convince Jesse Eisenberg to come back. As awful and weird as you think Facebook was in the 2010’s, I assure you IT WAS WORSE. 📚💙 #BookSky

Just finished this one and wow. Wright Thompson is thorough without ever being dry, a master journalist and storyteller and a son of Mississippi telling Mississippi’s buried history. Deftly connects Emmett Till’s murder to precolonial past, to civil rights, to today’s political climate. 📚💙

Welcome to #Caturday. JJ is astonished you have anything more important to do than sit and give pets.

Just finished this one and holy shit the writing is so good. Rare to have two characters so well drawn, to have literal laugh out loud moments in a book that is also delightfully weird and poignant and moving. Highly, highly recommend.

Skeptical of pop-psy books; often they’re airport fodder, bloated with dubious & outlandish claims.

This ain’t that.

Outraged by Kurt Gray is thoughtful, practical, actionable & backed by mountains of science. (bonus points for gently dunking on Haidt)

Well worth your time.

One of the little-heralded perks of working in a #Library is curating a display and carefully crafting signage for the sole purpose of embarrassing your children.
