I'm gonna try and do a bit of painting tonight. I was priming some minis last night, and they look lovely to paint.

Who else loves the original Heroquest?
I'd love to get my hands on the new version, but it's not in the budget right now.
So, I'm slowly painting my original set instead!

My netflix is buggering up again. It has done this before but I dunno if it really became fixed, I just stopped watching certain shows like Evangelion

Besides the appropriate level of hate directed towards Spotify, I don't see why people hate seeing Spotify wrapped.

There's a part of me that would rather like to introduce some more fairy tale elements into the games I GM. I think fantasy sort of leans heavy on a rationalised categorisation.

Maybe I'm imagining there is cynicism there, and actually, everyone's been whimsical this whole time.

the subtly funniest part of this review is "33.8 hours on record (3.4 hours at review time)".

this happened to them, they shut it off, left this review, walked away, came back, and put 30 more hours in.

that's Dungeon Encounters.
how is this a negative review this sounds like the funniest game ever made

Any time I see a miniature posing dramatically with a scroll, I like to think it's saying

"LOOK AT THE SCROLL. IT SAYS YOU'RE A DICK!"

We played Boss Monster, then Munchkin. It's been a while since I played Munchkin, so I was probably getting it wrong.

I don't know if the cheat card lets you use a 2-handed and 1-handed weapon, but nobody called me on it, and I felt it matched the spirit of the game to claim it does.
One of my players is out of action for tonight, so we're playing board games instead.

The debate around which board game I should bring isn't quite settled.

I'm thinking of bringing my really weird Buffy the Vampire Slayer game.

Also, please ignore my filthy rug.

We all know the tropes of fighting god in TTRPGs

But often these climactic fights against the BBEG can feel lackluster.

So I made a video on how to make your boss battles feel as epic as they deserve.

Wayward is really good. I like that it never explicitly calls what's going on a cult, but it very much is. Mae Martin isn't a great actor, but they're okay.

A solid mini series, I'm glad netflix seems to be making more of these short one-off series. I'm so tired of series cancellations or bloat.

Saw the ad for the new Stranger Things. It seems to me like that show has really gotten away from itself.

The first series is such a pure ideal of this King/Spielberg 80s nostalgia that any follow-ups have less to expand into. Every new series has fewer good ideas to homage.

I'm watching Filth as it's almost off netflix. Jesus, this movie is shit.

Something I will never understand is why reactionary 40k fans pretend to be imperials.

I dunno how to tell you this, but they're made up. You sound like someone off of the big bang theory.

It's interesting how some resistance libs are lapping up islamophobic rhetoric from a blatantly republican account.
They do not belong here.

I have a homebrew setting that I really like and played a long unfinished campaign for during the pandemic. But the more I revisit the setting, the more I think I'd like to write a proper novel about it.
But there's a few derivative ideas in it that i liked, but when I realised I felt stupid.
November 28, 2025 at 1:40 AM
This is a very good question. In the homebrew setting I did, I was aiming for some realism, so swords and armour would be expensive, and magic is a bit uncommon. I tried to say that the roads were pretty safe, but the further you get from towns and cities, the more outlaws or monsters you might find
#ttrpgquestion #ttrpg #worldbuilding

What precautions would the average person have in your world?

Do people feel safe enough to not need any weapons or is the world just dangerous enough that they may keep a blade or gun on them for defense?
Perhaps children have whistles to call for aide?

Still have no WiFi at the new flat, so I'm resorting to reading the oldschool CYOA book I found while packing

Forgot why I'd kept this one in particular til I got to my favourite illustration in the whole book: The Door That Knocks You

Turned out delicious. I'm so happy with it.
Making a big vegan mac and cheese for Friendsgiving with an American friend and others. I have not made it in a while. I think I made the sauce too thin. I also kinda wish I'd done some veggies for it. But in fairness, if I'd done more things, I'd have messed up something.

OK so I didn't thoroughly read the module, Klarg is meant to flee once his wolf dies. Oops.
Second session of Lost Mines of Phandelver, the group was thrashed by Klarg, the Cragmaw leader. TPK in the first hour.

They were taken prisoner but the cleric failed their death saves, so they got turned into goblin supper.

They convinced Yeemick to rise up against Klarg. Klarg got couped. #rpg

Went to D&D early to do some prep. Forgot the module. I'm way too stressed out today. Probably shouldn't be GMing tbh

It's such a tough time to be an indie publisher.

This is completely devastating to the team and we're only trying to continue due to the amount of support we've had from people directly involved 🥲

We're so sorry we couldn't do everyone's books this coming year
🚨STATEMENT🚨

We know there have been rumours circulating and we've been investigating all avenues to continue in extremely difficult circumstances, both industry-wise and within the team.

The support from our readers and writers means the world to us.

I have this idea for an evil D&D campaign. The group starts as the kind of bandits that raid caravans at the start of a low-level campaign hired by some mini-boss type. Then, doing more and more missions for the baddies, sometimes replacing them in the hierarchy of bad guys.
