And I wonder if “family bonds” are always good and healthy? Some people really need to escape toxic situations and college is one way to escape. And that’s probably a good thing.

Hawaiian doesn’t have an ʻokina, it’s an English word ;)
When direct monarchical lines ended, eligible aliʻi would be elected by the representative congress. It wasn’t technically a popular vote and you did have to be of royal pedigree but it was still a fair election!

You too! I gotta say I miss the special celebration of Holy Sovereigns, not just because Christ is King but because our earthly monarchs knew and understood that he was the model for just rule. (Were they perfect? No! But still very much striving for His righteousness.)

You can talk about the perfection of Jesus as the epitome of monarchy without acting like everyone in the US wanted to stop having kings. Some of us would quite like if you give our kingdom back, actually.

Trying to rest (with head elevated) and a little worried I won’t be able to go to work tomorrow (I feel bad because I ditched Wednesday Mass twice bc of this injury and I hate asking the other clergy to cover for me) but what can ya do.
