That said, I'll still give it the credit that its the best mmorpg ever made, and i have nothing but love and respect for the team. Its just, in a lot of ways, evolved past what a lot of people lived about it. Its almost like a "can't please everyone" kind of ordeal.

They have abandoned the game design, and more specifically class design, that made me love the game. They have genuine and tangible reasons for doing so that i think are valid, too, which lessens my hope it will return to what i loved.

The problem with ffxiv now though is design philosophy, not their capability to expand on/recreate the games infrastructure. I dont think anyone has doubts they'll continue to make new mechanics and add more content. People are absolutely doubting how the decision to make said things are made though
