Tonight I attempted to describe my childhood dreams of waking up in a women’s body and the confusion of being attracted to women & the wish to be her as well. I didn’t have the language or the emotional space in the 80s and 90s to understand that I was a trans woman, instead I struggled to fit in.

You wouldn't know from reading this New York Times story about Trump punishing the University of Pennsylvania for trans athletes that there are no trans athletes on women's teams at the University of Pennsylvania because the New York Times didn't find that detail worth including
