Spot on - I gave up on the Panel years ago as it was simply the same old paid lobbyists spouting nothing but talking points; or, some old guy who would shout down actual experts in topics in which said old guy knew bugger all.

I remember when John Key was elected, Paddy talking about how plush the carpet was at Sky City - he fully went on about it for a minute or two. It was ridiculous - I think he was trying to highlight the difference between National and Labour's events that night. He was ALWAYS like this

I have a theory that we need to INCREASE the amount of space junk so that Billionaires can't flee the planet once they've finished trashing it, and will actually have to help fix it if they want to survive - naïve I know, but still...

I worry this will mean defaulting to whatever plan that National has because Labour will be so eager to appear responsible, and National will not stick to any agreement if ACT or NZF deem it to be undesirable.

I feel like some potential National voters may think, "There'll be no asset sales cause the public doesn't want them", and then vote for National; only to find after the election the Nats say, "Your vote was a mandate for asset sales". Perhaps messaging needs to reflect that.

While I'm guessing he will be leading NZF at the next election, the alternative is Shane Jones and then all bets are off.

If NACTNZF are re-elected they will claim that as a mandate for asset sales, regardless of what any specific polls on the matter say. The only time voters matter in 'their' democracy is at election (donation gathering) time
