Academic working on Gender & Language in Greek tragedy, and gender in historical video games. Also a lot of women's cricket chat. Views all mine.
Got to play half a game of this at a recent event and really loved it. It's a brilliant example of how a historical theme can help us to play through and understand some of the decisions people made in the past!

I really wondered for a minute when I saw that whether it was some sort of meme/joke. Hoped, maybe.

So tempting - I think though I'll go with the idea I feel more qualified to manage for now, and save the other for later (if there is a later!) At some point I have to stop adding new things and just finish the things I can straightforwardly do - which might not happen if they were voted on...!

I still have a whole publication which Google scholar does not acknowledge, let alone successfully tracking citations of it!

I don't really like this, but I've also noticed it, and found it strange.

Thanks Briana.

Thanks, Bob. It can get quite easy I think to start to think that my work is *not* great, because otherwise I'd have a job, so the condolences are still very helpful as a corrective (I know rationally it doesn't actually work like that!)

Plus it's always generally lovely to hear from you!

And time spent on anything long term is accordingly pointless, but also not available, because I have to spend time 1) trying to get a job and 2) worrying about not having a job. Which is not a small investment of my energy.

That's still *quite* big then! But could definitely be worse it sounds like.

Syndicate is on my list for later this month, so I'm really glad to hear it's not one of the epic ones. I can't face anything that big!

I really like Going Out, and The End of Mr Y, and a little less PopCo, but I *didn't* like Our Tragic Universe. And I know The End of Mr Y is very unpopular among some!

I find Scarlett Thomas a bit up and down, which is maybe why she's not widely enough appreciated, but when her writing is good it's *so* good! Such interesting ideas.

(In particular, agreeing with the game villain that there's no real difference between wanting something interesting to do and being a mass murderer was a worrying sign...)
