I think he'd thrive in that role but who do you think should take his place as budget chair? Hollingsworth? To me, they're the best options by far in either role but I don't really have strong opinions as to who should do which.

It would also be nice for car insurance to be tied to driving. I pay for it whether or not I drive because I own a car, but if I only paid for it when I chose to drive, that would incentivize more transit use for sure.

It's better if they don't know

Yes, there are other CMs who are more values aligned, but we need them spending their time on policies that will actually create meaningful change, not managing their colleagues.

She's generally patient, organized, collegial, & direct. She doesn't spend much time grandstanding, and even though I have disagreed with many of her decisions, I've never felt like she had an underlying agenda. She's also competent and doesn't seem to try to micromanage or undermine central staff

I'm confused by this take. I don't think she'd fall into the same pitfalls as Nelson, trying to circumvent committees/rush things through without public feedback. I've sat through many council meetings and I'd argue that she is actually a great facilitator!

At least we're on the same page?

I met a friend and her friend at a show in Capitol Hill a few months ago. Her friend was wearing a Harry Potter shirt. I was mortified. I tried to talk to her about it while my friend was in the bathroom but it didn't help. Some people are more invested in their own nostalgia than harm prevention

My thoughts exactly.

That sucks. I'm so sorry. The feeling of embarrassment when you're not getting better is so real. I appreciate you for being vulnerable enough to talk about it

Nelson and Rivera. I can't remember now if Rivera said explicitly that she was abstaining because of conflict of interest or if I just assumed that that was the reason

Well actually he was a 200-lb teenager with an older brother and his family only had one bathroom and if that isn't struggling with affordability, he (literally) doesn't know what is!!

Ah, I wish I'd thought to hop on Bluesky bc I was just processing all of this alone and it was a LOT

Yes to both questions! At least he'll have a year to get his feet under him. Alexis had to run two years in a row!

I see answers to common questions, not prohibition from introducing yourself as a member of X organization that supports Katie Wilson. Am I missing something?

The campaign regularly shared canvassing events that orgs were hosting and social media from orgs. Had DSA been canvassing for her, they'd have met thousands of people
