I usually create a thread of options for people who would like to donate to a Native cause or struggle, but it has gotten HARDER to fundraise on socials over the past couple of years, so I am zeroing in on one ask this year. Pls support Native organizing infrastructure: nativeorganizing.org/donate/

Why didn't we have to do this at the start? Why do I have to go in person? Why doesn't anyone pick up when I call to schedule said appointment? Who can say.

The rate at which staff members have used force against inmates has been climbing steadily for the past decade. But interviews with watchdog officials, prisoners’ advocates and prisoners suggest that instances of the most egregious abuse have increased significantly in just the past three years.

Simply Julia (Julia Turshen) is possibly one of the best cookbooks out there - for folks who want to eat vegetables, get enough protein, eat an interesting variety of flavors, and still make food their kids will eat. MULTIPLE recipes on repeat in our home.

Exactly! I say yes as often as I can, but as a senior person at this point my service workload is well beyond the limit of what I can do - not to mention administrative workload. So the comm abt "secure job," while I understand, is also referring to a job where now we are doing the work of 3 ppl.

They focus so much on the "cause" in the same way they do on trans youth. That if there's some cause they can identify, they can eliminate that population by preventing it. It's eugenics disguised as concern trolling.

It's what they did with trans youth. They centered the perspectives of certain doctors and parents rather than the youth at issue themselves. Then they do the "just asking questions" bit that launders terrible dehumanizing rhetoric and undermines their dignity and rights.

That's what this is about. They spoke a lot to the parents of autistic children but almost never to the children themselves. It centers the perspectives of allistic people instead. They absolve themselves of this problem by focusing on high needs autistic children they claim they can't speak with.

The NYT claims diagnosis is a problem despite substantial improvements in detection and early intervention. The problem for them is that there are low needs autistic people who can advocate for themselves and push back against dehumanizing rhetoric like this against those on the spectrum.

Not surprisingly, according to data from X, some major MAGA accounts are not based in the US. Here are a couple of examples. Let's see how this pans out in the weeks to come, as there are still many questions about the accuracy of the location data from X.
