Ok? So we teach people. A commodity can very basically be understood as “a good which is produced for the purpose of sale”. This can be expanded upon but that understanding of what a commodity is can take you a very long way. I’m not really sure what you’re even attempting to argue

Definitely, understanding this from my early development as a communist has helped me avoid being mechanical or dogmatic. Can also help understand the struggles of past socialist states with regard to popular consciousness beginning to essentially idolize the capitalist lifestyle

They just don’t want to go to class and are trying to dress that up. If you go on the RateMyProfessor of any sociology or history or English professor that’s perceived as “progressive” and you see this anti-intellectual and super entitled perception of degrees as commodities

This may be a different issue that has some more nuance but even (to an extent) the mindset of “I paid for the class, I should be able to skip all the class times and just show up for the tests” most people that do that aren’t super geniuses who are able to learn efficiently from textbooks -
