PUMPKIN IS TERRIBLE PIE!! The best pies are 1. Key lime; 2. Pecan; and 3 Peach. Chocolate custard is also very good if made correctly.

I read the linked article. The author’s mother has eight kids and died when most of them were still at home. He never addresses the question of why killing his wife via repeated childbirth was so great for his Dad.
