This is a patient post lung transplantation! Pulmonary veins are often connected surgically by attaching the upper part of the LA in toto, hence the resulting increase in LA size.

I just realized that you and Thomas Lindow published another formula in 2024 that does include LA-size - have you compared the two methods and is there a winner?
I actually programmed both into our echo machine and the values of this one are usually a bit higher.

Challenge: Name all possible reasons for LA (and not so much RA) enlargement of with normal EF as in this loop…! I’m curious if somebody guesses the etiology here #echofirst #echosky #cardiosky

In fact, a "no-sports-verdict" for no reason would be pretty terrible for MY children as well. It's not like there's great data that this study contradicts. In fact it's hard evidence going against expert consensus. Just look at the ESC sports guidelines, LOE is always C for HCM:

Over at the other site somebody is boasting to have saved a life but stenting a proximal Cx in an asymptomatic patient (big yellow arrows underscore the success!)
I think it could be argued that this patient was actually harmed, given the never-ending 2% annual event rate of any PCI.

CCTA will receive coverage in 🇩🇪 in 2025 and I‘m curious how the country with one of the highest PCIs/capita will deal with it.

From the nature article. Even if red wine was helpful for CV disease - that benefit may be outweighed by other trouble.
The question really is: Do we have the evidence to actually recommend somebody to drink 1 glass of wine every day for overall health benefit?
I think not.

Yes it’s fused BAV, partial-fused BAV (often overlooked) and 2-sinus BAV. Also the angle of the opening should be reported as this has implications for the heart surgeon.
