As the father of two dual citizens, I am extremely worried that we're at a stage where this is now far enough along that we get actual bills proposed.

I find it hard to believe that the U.S. legit could deny Americans dual citizenship - but then the nationalists have wanted this for a while.

On the one hand, yes, but on the other hand, it's not like the Rogers court is known to care too much about established precedent.

But then on the OTHER other hand, I think it'd be difficult to establish that dual citizenship is somehow "not a thing according to US history" because uh...

So if this bill were to become a law, these people would automatically become denaturalized since they categorically can not comply with this law.

I wonder if this is by design.

The thing I keep coming back to is how DIRT CHEAP it is to buy politicians, with a STAGGERINGLY outsized ROI. Give some senator $50k, and get a multi-billion dollar deal approved. Billionaires can buy our politicians for what's a few pennies for us in equivalent.

And after some time you pass an event horizon, where it becomes increasingly difficult approaching impossibility to do anything about this, because they have amassed so much power that legislation to neuter their fortunes can never pass. We (possibly? likely?) are already there.

It is any society's duty to tax billionaire fortunes out of existence. NOT EVEN for revenue purposes. Billionaire fortunes can ONLY be acquired by de-facto criminal means. Money = power. If they are NOT taxed away, criminals will INEVITABLY end up running society by amassing all the power.

Granted this is now two or so years old, but I recall there being an "AI powered mushroom identification app" that would suggest a tasty mushroom stir fry to be made with... Death caps that when ingested painfully and irreversibly kill you by literally melting your liver. Tasty! (Once).

Not that I have empirically tested this, but I am QUITE certain you do not LLMs to learn any of that. With LLMs you just have a (higher?) chance the recipe will be wrong in hilarious ways. I'm PRETTY sure I can just use plain old boring internet search and find recepies for all kinds of horrors.
