Arkansas soybean farmer on bailouts: "I want trade, not aid. I need a place to sell this stuff. I can work hard enough and make a product. They've painted us in a corner with this China deal and China not buying soybeans. They've tore a market in half."

SCOTUS is essentially proposing to swoop in and shout "Fooled you! We're going to unwind the constraints, but not the delegation of power—even though you might not have accepted the delegation without the constraints."

Michigan’s secretary of state race is one of the most important in the country. With the seat open, extremists are already circling. We need a Democrat protecting voting rights in this battleground. Chip in what you can or just pass it along. Every bit helps.

1) This sounds like a violation of the Anti-Deficiency Act.

2) Every federal worker suffered over the past 7 weeks. But if we pay some groups faster than others, and if one if the ruler’s chief courtiers delivers the money like a personal gift…it’s bad.

Like, basic-modern-state bad. Weberian bad.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem handed $10,000 checks to more than 20 Houston TSA agents at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Thursday, thanking them for working through the 43-day-long government shutdown.

A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

The Roberts Court will go down in history as having upheld the desires of Donald Trump and the GOP, rather than its commitment to justice, precedent or the rule of law.

Today’s ruling — which substitutes its own fact finding for that of the lower court — is yet another example.

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.

Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

One disturbing thing I see a lot (and hell, I probably do it myself sometimes) is people, even knowledgeable ones, attributing everything that happens under a president to them entirely. Obama didn’t prosecute Bush officials, FDR personally made the early New Deal racist, etc.

He never really wanted to be president in the first place. He ran in 2016 as a publicity stunt and increasingly unlikely things kept happening until he sort of tripped into the White House.
one thing that receives almost no attention is that the only reason he ran for president again is because he had to to avoid prosecution for a litany of crimes, the whole plan was: 1). Take shelter in SCOTUS-granted immunity. 2). Loot.
trump is the president in the sense that he holds the office but he very clearly isn't the president in the sense that he has basically relieved himself of its duties

For the record, this is the point of having a “warrior” culture, to having notions of honor attached to the military profession is so that dishonor can is feared. Military service is honored but if you fail to uphold standards—including refusing illegal orders—you must be dishonored.
This is also why I hate hearing “it’s hard to disobey orders.” It’s hard to endure danger. It’s hard to not give up information. That’s precisely why there must be no ground given on the matter—when you bear arms, you take on that responsibility and must endure the consequences if you fail.
anyways read theory. american soldiers do not swear loyalty to the commander-in-chief. they swear loyalty to the constitution. the difference matters--not in sunny skies and good weather, but on bad days, when you are pressed to the breaking point--that is precisely when it matters most.
