The gold leaf work and the lettering... *swoon*. Thanks for sharing!

The assumptions people make about creatives are still so odd to me. Especially when a lot of us are out here talking about the realities.

'All writers are rich'. Oh?

Huh. I couldn’t tell. With the number of books I've got out, you'd think I'd have noticed.

Oof.

That's the third time I've spilled my coffee today. Some days, it just wants to be everywhere but where it's needed most 😅.

Better finish this cup before it happens again.

This cracked me up. No idea why. Well done.

So, soooooo lucky I'd already swallowed my coffee. 🤣🥰

Your way with words and sense of humour are wonderful.

And yup. We do.

'If you don’t rest, your body will make you rest.'

Whoo boy. I rather wish I hadn’t blown that off so much.

(For clarity, I was born disabled. It just wasn't extremely obvious until I'd ignored my health for too long.)

myself into severe disability.

Don't be me. Human bodies weren't designed for the pace of modern life.

We're apex predators. We're *supposed to* conserve energy.

I had to intentionally teach myself to rest. And continually remind myself that rest is necessary.

I used to see this phrase a lot

to *everything.*

Part of why we often end up with chronic fatigue. This world isn't made for ND brains.

Rest is so important for us.

And modern society tries to tell us rest is bad. Catch 22.

I'm a very driven person. Always have been (and too stubborn for my own good).

I've basically driven

door handle, that weird taste in your mouth, the sound of the air filter. You might *notice* those things, but then your brain deems them unimportant.

But an ADHD or AuDHD brain doesn't do that. ADHD is such a terrible name for it.

It's not a deficit of attention. It's that we're paying attention
November 24, 2025 at 9:23 PM
I've seen some confusion on that.

It's the distractability factor. Our brains don't have the filter many NT brains do. We notice *everything* so it can be difficult to focus on *just one thing*.

An NT brain will sorta push things to the background. IE: the feel of your clothes, the shine off the

My interest bounces around as fast as a squirrel can move, and I'll go down rabbit holes on whatever the topic of interest is.

Hey, I *earn* my title of walking encyclopedia. 😅😂

That’s what it means when ADHD folks say 'Squirrel'. Our minds/attention move that fast. Not that we *are* squirrels.

Right? We're not supposed to criticize this stuff, you know. Or point out that older fiction *was a warning, not a guideline. FFS*.

We're supposed to be absolutely thrilled! Thrilled at the *checks notes* progress?

SMDH. I think I went down the wrong leg of the pants of time.

It really is odd, isn’t it? To have been alive when things like 'AI' were science fantasy, and when we had to read books like 1984, Animal Farm, and the like.

And to still be alive and seeing assholes *doing the things those books (and other fiction) were warning us not to do.*

Mindboggling.
