Canada Jays aren't super common here, but wow are they special. I've heard they're fearless but I've never had a bird perch on my hand like this, for no reason other than curiosity. A pair was following me around and I tried sticking my hand out when one almost landed on my head.

Murguero. This character illustration is inspired by a festive culture from Uruguay. From the pose to the clothes, but with some creative freedom behind it and a little drop of surrealism.

An ache in my soul
For a home
I've never been to
Nor will ever go

Sadness and longing
For places
I've dreamed to see
To walk, and breathe

To feel

And knowing it is not to be

So much appreciation to K.A. for these lists.

If you haven't read their trilogy, The Chronicles of Ghadid, (TOR books), you're missing out.

Fantastic characters, great descriptions, interesting plot, fascinating world, oh! And they're beautifully written, too.

Shoos you toward epic assassins.

We exist in the age of the Dweebpocalypse.
I can’t remember which journalist it was who first said ‘I never thought the men who would bring down democracy would be such losers’ but….. that.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

“Cyberpsychosis” is a concept that the Cyberpunk game (and others) has been discussing since 1988.

It’s fascinating to me that I have existed from the point that “Cyberpsychosis” was coined as a fantasy to the point that “AI psychosis” was coined as a real condition …

Recovering from the strokes was hard. Adding the pulmonary embolism to the mix feels like adding insult to injury.

Thanks, Covid. I needed more health problems. Really.

*looks at sarcasm puddled on the floor*. Well, that can stay there cause I'm sure as shit not cleaning it up.

I have a comfy bed. I just wish I could get *out of it* more often.

One bad health event has completely wrecked everything for me. Stamina, balance, ability to breathe, laugh, do anything physical...

I'm still pushing every damned day to get better.

And if you know someone in

Oh, good the whole book piracy discourse is back, in which a bunch of people with no money argue about whether a bunch of other people with no money deserve to get paid for their labor or not while a few billionaires hoover up all the money from everybody's labor.

Yay.

Fun.

Now I've probably pissed off a lot of the writing community w/my thread on tropes... 😂❤️

I tried to watch a thing on YT by an expert claiming to tell what's good/bad about long sword fighting in movies.

Talk about misrepresentation. I didn’t want to know if they liked them. I wanted information.
November 21, 2025 at 3:23 AM
I really don't have the energy to heavily discuss it & y'all know that tropes aren't bad things, right?

Humans have been using tropes since we first began telling stories. If you write, you're using tropes even if you think you aren't. Don't believe me? Go look at the list of tropes on tvtropes.org

A good 16 days of hell from whatever that un-masker gave me and my family. Still not completely well, but my brain is almost-not-really-yet working again.

I read dissertations and scientific papers with breakfast, so it's obviously sputtering back to life.

Heavy on the 'sputtering'.
