With the decisions Target keeps making, private equity will take a chainsaw to them in the next decade. Not like the board room is going to look in the mirror and realize that they are the source of most of the issues the company is experiencing.

Every single "but he is OLD" attack the media made on Biden was far more obvious for Trump. Biden would occasionally forget names, Trump was largely incoherent in messaging, even with a teleprompter. If we're being truthful with ourselves, neither of them should have been candidates.

When he dies or leaves office, there are going to be at least a half dozen in books coming out about how they knew Trump had dementia during the 2024 election, how they had to manage him thru the election and his time in office, and scapegoating the worst decisions on various people.

In the Winter of 2006, there were two blizzards in the same week. We'd just moved to Colorado in Summer 2005 from Florida. Was trying to tough it out until I heard the locals complaining.

During the 2016 election, the then 88 year old German immigrant neighbor hated Trump. When I asked her why, she said she'd heard everything he had to say before, only in another language. Then made it clear she only spoke German and English.

Remember the right-wing push to rehabilitate Joe McCarthy's reputation? This is why. They want to wave blank pages around, claiming it's irrefutable proof of whatever narrative they need at the moment. Proof that will never, ever be provided, only built upon to increase the vitriol of the rhetoric.

If we're being honest, there aren't a lot of good reasons to refuse to keep accurate, easily accessible records on kids detained. Plenty of bad ones though that exceed simply preventing families reuniting, or discouraging bringing children to the US.

Ironic that QAnon was all worried about the kids when ICE was trafficking kids then, and are still trafficking them today. Refusing to keep proper records makes you wonder if they're being shipped to whomever the new Epstein is today. Call is from inside the house guys...

Seems she had forgotten what the former Jesuit Instructor had previously lectured on.

"When looking at any faith, you have to ask yourself which parts are faith, dogma, or belief and which parts are designed to put butts into seats and money into coffers."

Succinctly sums up every faith.

College class Q & A after a presentation on Satan in Intro to Religion, I asked the woman who gave it if:

1. God being All Knowing, knew Satan would fall?
2. If Satan, who had the second worst job after Savior, could be forgiven after Judgement Day.

The instructor loved the questions, she did not

Which is exactly why Republicans have been calling rural voters Real Americans for at least the last two decades, despite 80% of Americans living in an urban area.

Same and can confirm. Also heard plenty of the anti-Mormon rhetoric while living in North Florida as a teenager and not one time did I hear anything about them not being white. Given the people talking, they definitely would have added that to the attacks, because they used that language too.

Mormons didn't allow people of African decent to have the Melchizedek priesthood (for 18 or over men in good standing) until a year after Star Wars came out. I'm sure that the prophecy had nothing to do with the IRS looking at the church's tax exempt status.

Or the John Birch Society ties.

My sister told me when his dementia started getting bad, but I've nothing I need to say to him. Won't go to the funeral either because I don't need closure.

My father has four kids (that we know of) and only one is still talking to them. He has eight grandchildren, but only knows about two of them, my kids. On his first meeting with my youngest, his second meeting the oldest, he decided to hit the oldest. Has been zero contact since then.

The media barely covered Afghanistan publicly offering to turn Bin Laden and whomever else we named over to the World Court for trial during the same time frame that the President of Iran had reached out offering sympathy for 9/11. Neither the Afghanistan or Iraq wars were necessary.

No one was held accountable for the Kent State massacre either.

The Democratic Party motto for 2028 should be:

Motherfucking Consequences

Then, and this is the important part, follow thru and make sure they experience them.

Remember the college Psychology professor who asked the class why anyone would place any value in Freud's words if you thought he was crazy. Pointed out exactly none of his ideas were original outside of renaming and marketing them. That Psychologists had largely walked away from him decades ago.

The people who need Trump pardons best get them now, because Vance is going to throw a lot of them under the bus. They aren't Thiel's allies, so Vance won't do anything for them.
