It's interesting that people just totally forgot that masking in 2020 literally drove one strain of flu extinct. It no longer exists, because people wore masks.
And, that after a bunch of covid infections, they find it very hard to understand why you'd mention masks when talking about the flu

I don’t think “defund” per se but do better with tackling costly systemic issues & work multi agency on things cops will never likely be the right people to handle alone (e.g. mental health crises) to improve the quality of services for victims & reduce reactive shootings & lawsuits

A lot of police resources are wasted because they hire officers who left other counties/states were they resigned before they could be sacked and/or the unions protect known bad apples who get suspended on full pay. Officers who then cause payouts to victims & worse. More vetting/training needed

When people say defund I think they often mean reallocate funding, for example to have mental health professionals integrated with police rather than just more under-trained (& sometimes low quality recruiting standards) officers.
