My garden is doing its thing! Not pictured, the most exciting find of the evening: in Feb I planted a root (just a root section) of a Triple Crown blackberry, not knowing if it would take—as of tonight I have several baby canes peeking up!

I made a doily “table island”! One of my 2025 goals, a project I’ve wanted to do for years and never have been able to get around to it until now. I didn’t make the doilies themselves, just to be clear.

All five trees of life complete on #akgit1833 , a German counted cross-stitch sampler reproduction from Modern Folk Embroidery. These trees are the largest elements of the Vierlanden design but I’m probably only 20% done all-up. Stitched on 36-ct linen with hand-dyed floss from Roxy Floss Co.

We went mini-golfing and played arcade games at Monster Mini-Golf in Bellevue this afternoon! Would def go back, very fun for all ages 🙌

Amaryllis journey! I bought this bulb on discount after Christmas at the local hardware store and opened it to realize it had already tried to bloom in the box. I wasn’t sure if I could get it to recover or bloom again but look, it did! And it’s freakishly tall.

I’m stitching the very large, very intricate Vierlanden #akgit1833 sampler reproduction by Modern Folk Embroidery on beautiful linen. Marching across the top of the design are five trees of life, the focal point of the sampler. I just finished the fourth of them!

We needed Christmas stockings for home (our stockings have until now been at family’s houses!), so I’m whipping them up via crochet so they don’t take ages! First one down and it turned out really cute, if I do say so myself.

Christmas tree is officially up! Last winter I made a set of embroidered wool felt “12 Days of Christmas” ornaments and this year is their debut on the tree! Lady Dancing, Maid a-Milking, and a Lord a-Leaping here. 🎄
