The DNC’s official survey lost me in the first two questions, both of which were about Trump. I don’t want to talk about Trump. I want to talk about how the Dems will regain my trust and lead us into the future.

I did my best to beam “conscientious decision-maker” at the courthouse this morning, but they excused me from jury duty this time 🥲

NYT meets Manosphere: the norms clashes in this David Marchese/Andrew Schultz interview are so funny and revealing to me (a NYT subscriber, liberal, and former journo). I’m here for the frankness and the questions back to the interviewer. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/m...

Pulled off actual heroics to get my son a yearbook after my preorder disappeared. Super grateful for the local mom network that makes this kind of magic possible!

The only Memorial Day weekend sale I bothered with this year was for mulch. I’m turning 40 this year and my front yard in the suburbs will look NICE and CARED FOR, goddamnit.

My garden is doing its thing! Not pictured, the most exciting find of the evening: in Feb I planted a root (just a root section) of a Triple Crown blackberry, not knowing if it would take—as of tonight I have several baby canes peeking up!

Had a gross, fat-shamey experience at the Bellevue office space we rented for our work off-site this week. When I told the staff I’d be filing a complaint, they laughed at me. Sharing to say: this shit still happens allll the time, even (especially?) in so-called progressive spaces like the PNW.

My 7yo son gave me a card in an envelope this morning. “It’s sealed with saliva,” he assured me.

Especially since Covid, but really since I had my son eight years ago, I’ve been pretty sedentary. But I committed to walk a 5k next weekend— I’ve been training for it for months, and I just knocked my practice attempt out of the park! It’s taken a lot physically and mentally to get to this point.

Subskeet: The persistent, global human interpretation of certain experiences as divine or supernatural gives us a lot more info about humanity than it does about God. It’s not a good proof point. Human brains human, news at 11.

Halfway done with #akgit1833! My goal was to hit this 50% point by the end of 2025, but I’m making better time than I expected.

I’d forgotten what a pleasure shopping at a small business can be. Today we walked into an ambiguously named shop and within 10 minutes we knew the business’s 30-year history as a textiles importer, their business model and how to buy, the ownership’s values, and backstory on the merchandise. ❤️🙌😍
