I love my Salsa Cutthroat. Slightly more expensive, slightly lighter and by far the best bike for trails imo. Lots of contact points for commuter bags or bikepacking. Probably not as efficient on the road but I avoid pavement.

There's a depression on an undeveloped lot next to me that is full of frogs all year, unless it's super cold. This gray tree frog took shelter in one of my lilies last year. They are so loud at times I can't be outside 😂

I looked at the Kona myself. I ended up with a base version Salsa Cutthroat. Love the Cutty but looking at new options the base price I'm seeing is 1k more than what I paid. Mine is mechanical brakes and shifting, super basic. Covid purchase 😁
