It's definitely making people dumber. Plus, some fields NEED that human connection/touch. AI will never provide that.
People don't want to interact with robots and computers. Hell, even now, people yell "REPRESENTATIVE!" on the phone because they don't want to deal with that automated voice 😆😆😆

Generally, I agree with what you said. But, just yesterday, I literally heard someone say "You're not going to lose your job to AI. You're going to lose your job to someone who knows how to use AI better than you do."
