Orders from Moscow.

Russia won't stop until Ukraine as we know it is destroyed. The only way to stop that from happening is to destroy the Russian regime.

No, let them have a seat and think that we care about their opinion. Play their dirty game.
November 27, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Looking at the bigger picture Europe is getting ready though, at least Northern Europe and the frontline states. The UK is probably struggling more than others with the thought of accepting that the transatlantic era is over.
November 27, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Let's play the American game, let's humour them but make sure no Ukrainian and European red lines are crossed. While at the same time planning for the inevitable death of NATO, ramping up our arms production and the birth of a new European defence alliance.
November 27, 2025 at 1:18 PM
Well everyone knows it's unlikely that the US would participate, but as long as NATO exists on paper the military must plan for that possibility. It's up to the politicians to draw conclusions from the new reality we all live in.

Offensive cyber operations against Russia sounds like a reasonable fist step.
November 27, 2025 at 10:46 AM
Yes, it will depend an what comes after Putin. Realistically, and unfortunately, the best hope for a just peace in Ukraine is a societal collapse in Russia. And that will of course create new problems in the future.
November 27, 2025 at 10:42 AM
Oh no!
November 27, 2025 at 9:02 AM
We all know NATO is dead, but Washington is keeping us hostage by pretending to be committed. We would probably be better off by accepting realities and doing something about it.
November 27, 2025 at 9:00 AM
The US is a lost cause, we should use our resources to scale up production and capabilities in Ukraine and the EU.
November 27, 2025 at 8:52 AM
We should also assess how the money spent on American weapons could be used to quickly scale up production in Ukraine and the EU. It would of course be painful at first but might put us in a better position medium and long term.
November 27, 2025 at 8:48 AM
The US still holds some cards though, like intelligence sharing and sales of weapons. Any realistic planning for the coming months must take into account the possibility that Washington will put a stop to those programs.
November 27, 2025 at 8:44 AM
The problem is that Trump is a moron and easily offended, and he still has a lot of power. But yes, we are getting close to the point where we should let him know he's a moron, although in diplomatic terms of course.
November 26, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Probably a bit unfair to Rubio, the US now has three teams working on foreign policy, competing against each other and for Trump's attention. Rubio is the best of those three, but a sane person would of course resign.
November 26, 2025 at 11:03 AM
Nobody in Europe trusts the US, the relationship is now transactional and in some cases based on shared interests, never on shared values. So threats from Washington are not very effective anymore.

She might be contractually obligated. But I guess the question was rhetorical.
November 25, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Excellent choice of words. A bit undiplomatic, but at this point who cares.
November 25, 2025 at 9:09 PM
It's purely about will. Russia wants to destroy Ukrainian statehood, whatever the cost. Normal war logic can not be applied, they will fight until the end, whatever that will be.
November 25, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Europe isn't going to buy arms from China under any circumstances, but domestic production is being scaled up fast. Will take years to fully decouple from the US though.
November 25, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Ukraine is there, so there's nothing to worry about in that sense.
November 25, 2025 at 9:58 AM
Not sure if it's that unlikely. Nepal is a remote place at high altitude, it's probably very expensive to deliver fuels even to the capital, not to mention rural areas. Electricity on the other hand can be generated locally.
November 25, 2025 at 8:11 AM
When it comes to Halligan at least it was surely incompetence too.
November 25, 2025 at 8:05 AM
It's too little, and Rubio is not in charge of US foreign policy anyway, JD Vance is. But I think the goal here is to create a proposal that Russia will reject. It's still too early for peace talks, a ceasefire must come first.
