🥹 trauma dumping wip wednesday
"When I was eight, my Mom left me at a service station and drove off. There was this really nice Auntie that worked there, she gave me like, endless amounts of blue slushie. We never got to eat stuff like that either, so it was a total novelty. Think I drank like a litre of the stuff until I literally couldn't take it anymore." Jungkook chuckles softly at how visceral the memory still is, the cold he can still feel in his guts. "Eventually, I puked blue all over the service station toilet, and walls. Haven't had one ever since." He grins at the memory of that Auntie who had sat him up on the counter, and kept him entertained until the police came. He was young enough then, that once he'd gotten over the crying, it had all felt like an adventure. It's just like that when you're a kid though, even the bad shit feels like a thrilling break from routine. It wasn't until much later, when they were in their Grandma's house in Seoul, never to see Busan again, that Jungkook had really broken down about it all-half because he wanted his Mom and she was nowhere, and half because the sugar come down was a bitch. He'd tantrumed so hard that he'd nearly gone blue, and then he'd cried himself to sleep, Seokjin singing Lee Hyori in his ear, kissing the curls at his crown. Three weeks later, Mom reappeared with a raspberry slushie, of all things, cerulean and cruel. It was completely out of character for her, and the first time that Jungkook hadn't run right out of his grandma's house into her open arms. He'd stood by Seokjin's side feeling betrayed-not by her disappearance, the trauma of being wilfully forgotten somewhere strange, like a penny you don't have a good enough reason to keep. It was the damned slushie. It felt like a dagger in his tiny chest. blue slush puppie cup with a pink straw, a city in the background.

i've been writing again ;_; so a wip wednesday.
Jungkook flushes. “Ah, no. I mean, yeah she’s lovely, but—” He looks around the club a little helplessly, not sure what brought him here, why he thought this was a good idea in the first place. “He’s not looking for someone to fuck anyway, right?” Yoongi says, just as the drinks arrive. Jungkook’s eyes bug out at the violent pink cocktail that Namjoon ordered for him, a fat Margherita glass rimmed with sugar. “Definitely not,” he says quickly, running his pinkie along the rim of the glass. Maybe he can get away with nursing this one all night. He’s never been great at holding his alcohol, not that he’s had a lot of practice. Sometimes, he’ll finish a small bottle of soju or a couple beers while they game on a Friday, but he’s not exactly getting hammered in his room by himself, is he? "But it wouldn't hurt to find someone you actually like, right?" Namjoon says with a wicked grin. "And Seokjin is your brother, so if you bring home some girl that's totally not your type, he's going to just know." Yoongi nods slowly, swivelling his own Scotch on the Rocks, neat and demure, tiny cat or mobster. "He's right. You have to have some chemistry, and your face is so transparent. You gotta at least think they're hot." Jungkook feels his clingly shirt sticking to the dampness of his lower back, the Margherita slipping in his fingers. Getting here was one thing, overcoming the hurdle of just meeting Namjoon and Yoongi. Putting on pants so tight he’d never have even looked at them before tonight. It’s taken so much of his energy just to get here. The idea of walking into the swell of limbs on the dance floor, or approaching someone at the bar… it’s terrifying. “I don’t know if I can do this,” he mumbles, so low his voice is shaking. “I want to go home.”
