Feels like either the role Megan Fox was made to play, or that she’s been miscast badly since then. She really was perfect in it.

Refreshingly for a romance, two movie-star attractive leads are treated as movie-star attractive people by the characters around them! That made it feel oddly grounded. The twists on the formula were surprising, and while it was a little twee, it did get emotions out of me.

In 2019 I spent a year doing live shows at Universal Studios Osaka. Including a One Piece stage combat show, where I was the first actor of non-Japanese descent to play Monkey D Luffy onstage at the park.

Thought it was kinda bad! The actors were more talented than the script they were given. It wanted to be all at once earnest and a parody, and also a spy movie plus a fantasy movie. And I think it spread itself too thin to succeed strongly at any of those goals.

I could only recommend this to die hard HxH fans and people who enjoy ridiculously swingy, broken fighting games. I am both of those things so I’m having fun. Touch-of-death combos have never felt so easy and I’m treating this as training wheels for other fighters.
