((I don't think I ever specified Fleet's height so my bad that Solas is like 5'1 now lol))

Straining herself to exhaustion trying to make her magic last just a little bit longer. But it barely wasn’t enough. They started to wobble, and Fleet just barely managed to throw Solas over her shoulder and onto the roof before smacking into the lip of the roof and plummeting to the ground herself.

Assuming Solas heeded her warning and didn’t screw with her balance, she successfully approached the roof of Ramone’s office.

“As long as you don’t do anything dumb, we're not! Now, hang on tight!”
With nothing but those words and a quick squat as a heads-up, Fleet rocketed them into the night sky before transitioning into her normal float in mid air,

“Say, why does this mountain need guards in the first place? Is it because of the spirits? Are you protecting them or are you protecting visitors?

Fleet had no idea what Tengu or Youkai were, but considering they were uttered in the same breath as spirits, this mountain might be exactly where she needed to be. Even if there was no sign of purple yet.

She stepped up to the ledge and removed her bow from her back, making room for Solas to climb on. “Let’s go. Whatever you do, leave the balancing to me. Floating is like walking on a tightrope, if you start counterbalancing you’ll throw me off and we’ll crash into the wall. And I like having teeth!”

All that training for months to study her abilities, yet she still wasn’t good enough. She stepped away from the ledge and paced around the roof, disguising it as thinking but really she was trying to hype herself up and let go of the self-doubt. The usual.

She jumped to her feet, hoisting the bow onto her shoulder, and excitedly shook Momiji’s hand. “I’m Fleet! The Archer of Justice! You’re right, I am the unofficial hero of Julesvale! Though, I’m quite far from home now…”

“Aha! You must be one smart cookie if you could figure that out just by a glance!” Fleet said, a proud smile forming and internally patting herself on the back for the design of her hero outfit.

Now, finally, Momiji found her near the foot of the mountain. She was resting on top of a log, humming a tune to herself as she carved into some wood.

Over the past few weeks of duty, Momiji might've spotted glimpses of a fox meandering in the vague direction of mount Youkai, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake. Extensive damage to the buildings in a lot of the settlements the fox had been.
