King has taken up *so* much space that wasn’t his to take.

My son is currently studying one of his books in school as an example of Indigenous literature.

I used “The Truth about Stories: A Native Narrative” in an essay for an Indigenous History course I took.

From my notes - yes, ironic.

“Winnipeg’s 2026 budget is being presented as a responsible plan for a growing city. In reality, it continues a decades-long pattern of expanding the physical footprint of the city faster than we can afford to maintain it — while starving the essential services that keep Winnipeggers safe.”

So cute!

I’m so grateful to all the media outlets who have picked up this music story: @winnipegfreepress.com @theglobeandmail.com CBC, Radio-Canada, CTV, UMFM, CKUW, etc.

I sense some relief from adults that kids are still making music in their basement, performing live, and acting like…kids.

Today’s the day! Album release party at the West End Cultural Centre for We’re Only Here For The Snacks. Opening bands start at 5 pm and the Snacks will start just after 7 pm. Tickets available at the door. Show done by 8 pm. Hope to see Winnipeggers of all ages there!

Thank you, Dan Leonard (a member of Granite Members for Affordable Housing).

“The MB government is hoping for a generational investment to expand the Port of Churchill, but the City of Winnipeg is unable to even move forward with a funded, city-approved, 111-unit housing project on city land.”

You wouldn’t want to bring “unwanted traffic” onto this peaceful boulevard.

I’m relieved they caught this guy. Look at this long list of property damage, including tons of arson. #Winnipeg #Downtown

Still no snow in Winnipeg.

Do Americans know that Canadians never have to deal with this sort of “prior authorization” stress when we need medical care? (Not to mention we don’t get a bill in the mail.) #UniversalHealthCare

I’m heartened that this group exists: “Granite Members for Affordable Housing”. Good for them.

Also, there’s a *sea* of parking literally across the street (proposed complex is the X). This should be easy to resolve if the Granite truly wants the housing complex to be built. #Winnipeg

Rama Duwaji (Zohran Mamdani’s wife):

“I believe everyone has a responsibility to speak out against injustice,” she added, “and art has such an ability to spread it. I don’t think everybody has to make political work, but art is inherently political in how it’s made, funded, and shared.”

It’s ironic that she uses Pizzeria Badiali and Taverne Bernhardt's as “examples of the disruption retail can cause” because I always admire the little restaurants on Dovercourt when I’m visiting Toronto.

Poilievre jumped the shark by attacking the RCMP. Conservatives *like* the police.

“Doctors Manitoba targeted physicians concerned about the Trump presidency and the uncertainty it poses — especially in states that limit the ability to offer evidence-based medicine in areas such as reproductive health, gender-affirming care or medical assistance in dying.”

My son has a principal role acting and singing in the Hallmark MOW “The Snow Must Go On”! Obviously they aren’t everybody’s cup of tea, but Hallmark movies are super important to the film industry here in Manitoba. So I’m grateful for them :)
