In the week since Mayor Wilson began enforcing the public camping ban, we are seeing MORE tents in East Portland. Those folks are just being swept into my district.

I told the mayor that this is what would happen and asked him to bring extra resources to East PDX to meet the displaced. He did not.

Our community is devastated by the loss of of Grey Wolfe, a pedestrian using Cesar Chavez boulevard.

Last budget cycle I tried to bring an amendment to fund improvements to this road. My office is working to find funding for safety improvements again.

This can’t be the norm anywhere in Portland.
"Grey was a therapist, an activist, and an inspiration and support to many Portlanders over the decades. She would post activist posters on fence outside her office so people passing by on the sidewalk could learn from their messages." - Lois Leveen

Woman killed on Cesar Chavez was on daily walk, just two blocks from her home
Grey Wolfe is remembered as a mother, counselor, and activist.

Text from a friend. The TriMet cuts are already disastrous. ODOT, the suburban legislators undercutting transit, and Mayor Wilson are failing us. #pdx

I’ll send one too!
this reminds me that I was going to send an email to my senator and representative about how mad I am that service on my bus line just got cut. would encourage everyone else to do the same: www.arcgis.com/apps/instant...

💯
Portland should elect people who will direct PBOT to put transit and micromobility clearly and confidently above planning for parking and cars. we could be the one place in the US that turns away from the violence, isolation, and frustration of the automobile

Coffee + books. I’m in heaven. Add that said books are all about activism, queer, radicalization, politics and/or history; TOTAL BLISS. I found my happy place. 🦄

My shelves are overflowing with books. My closet can't fit any more clothes, most of which I haven't worn in years. My attic is filled to the brim.

All of the Black Friday shopping deals remind me that I'm drowning in stuff. Are you?
Do we really need more stuff?

Are you looking for somewhere to put your political energy that can make a real difference? DSA is the largest socialist organization in the country, now at 90,000 members nationwide, and we have big plans for the years ahead. Join this mass movement!

What would be even better is have free transit on Small Business Saturday to encourage people to leave the car at home!
This Saturday, PBOT is sponsoring free parking on the street and at all five SmartPark garage locations to make supporting local businesses easy on Small Business Saturday!

SmartPark is also sponsoring two free parking weekends on Dec. 13-14 and Dec. 20-21.

why doesn't the Oregon GOP simply fight to repeal the gas tax altogether? Clearly, $0.06 more a gallon is too much for plowed roads and maintained bridges/traffic signals. maybe after 30 years of no road maintenance oregon will be a premier destination for gravel biking.

yup, hence the "gubernatorial gambit" part. we really need to better educate the public about how we are (and aren't) funding public services in this state.

anti-tax, anti-gov't movements are not good for people, places, or prosperity.

Traffic Citation Camera Equipment Returns to 82nd Ave
Crews recently replaced the speed and red-light enforcement cameras on 82nd Avenue after Portland City officials switched vendors this summer. The pole-mounted equipment appears inactive, with the Tuffak polycarbonate lens covers still donning its logoed protective film. However, drivers can anticipate the system's activation, with a period of warning letters issued before the City switches to issuing citations for excessive speeds, failing to stop for a red traffic signal, or going through a yellow light when the driver could have stopped before entering the intersection.

If you’re feeling discouraged, remember: everyday people are pushing for change in big and small ways! 💪🏾 At local government meetings, in their neighborhoods, at their workplaces, online, everywhere. You can be part of that movement. Start small! Start local! Start with what you care about! 🤎✊🏾

Imagine any job, where one person demanded death for their coworkers from the branch office for simply posting a video about maintaining lawful conduct.

They’d be fired.

Now imagine that same person was already a felon, and associated themselves with a convicted pedophile.

They’d be fired.
