Optimum distance tends to vary with different colours of primer as the particulate size for the paint varies. I tend to test optimum distance on something, especially for new colours that I haven't used before.
Of course, sometimes primer can just be fickle...

Possibly distance related then? I've notice applications of spray primer from too close lead to over spray and cracking/crazing of the primer layer, while from too far away leads to the grainy dust effect as the primer is drying before hitting the model.

I'm missing Dragonmeet this year. First time in ages. Most likely missing Grogmeet in January as well unless I manage to secure some form of employment for January when my research contract ends—can't afford to spend the money if I'm not going to have any coming in!
Always up for a virtual con tho!

Thanks for sharing, Ian. Really fascinating watch. I'm currently interested in visualisation and haptic for research purposes, so it was informative on how the various senses mesh together.

Time Wheeler used to have this flying V that used to have flames shoot out the bottom of - he'd hold it upside down on fire on stage. I can't remember if it went wrong once and the whole thing ended up catching alight...

Absolutely loved Lone Wolf when I was younger and still do today. I've been picking up the hard back definitive editions as they're being released (reminds me I still need to get books 17 & 18 now they've been released!). Need to find time to sit down for a run through them again.
