oh theres also rathskeller for more upscale kind of place. if nothing else its a cool building to walk past. i cant say i really remember anything about the food from the one time i went there but its a landmark, ive mostly just been to the beer garden but idk if thats open this time of year

there's also bottleworks on mass ave if you want to grab something and walk around there, food court type situation in what used to be a coca cola bottling plant. & lots of cute local shops on that street

more personal to me, riviera maya is just north of indianapolis. i used to live down the street from it in hs. it got priced out of its original location and is now in an old cheeseburger in paradise building. wouldn't say its anything particularly special but it means something to me.

if youre looking for something more upscale, st elmos is kind of the only one i know of really worth it or unique to indianapolis.

there's a local fast casual chain called Yatz that does cajun food, im sure some nola people would scoff but i always get some when i visit my mom n its tasty

if you want something kind of more divey and historical, there's the steer in. i think guy fieri went there ¿ great patty melts and milkshakes.

a lot of the stuff i used to love as a kid is gone between the rapid development/gentrification and the pandemic, but that one is still there
