Thanks to comrades at @cailesil.bsky.social for inviting us to connect the legal responses to the genocide in Gaza with our own research. It was an important space to identify the possibilities the law might entail for liberation.

If you think leftist rebels are political absentees, meet Leonidas Iza, an Indigenous Marxist who fared quite well in the recent Ecuadorian elections. He chairs the National Indigenous Confederation and led the 2019 strikes against neoliberal austerity. He wrote a materialist account of that event.

I am still in awe by @philpaiement.bsky.social’s powerful inaugural address as Professor of Law and Governance in the Anthropocene at Tilburg Law School.

His speech reminded us of the obliteration of Palestinian ecological conditions in Gaza as a result of the Zionist settler colonial project.

Being back in Madrid for a deep dive into ecological justice from different perspectives was fantastic. I talked about earth system law in the capitalocene, and the discussion with esteemed friends and colleagues didn’t disappoint 😌

Happy to be at 'The New Institute' in Hamburg to share ideas with esteemed colleagues about trivial things like governing the planetary commons.

The richest 1% is responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 66%

Thanks to comrade @ntinatzouvala.bsky.social for a lovely lunch and chat about all things from commodity fetishism to the challenges of finding good food in Germany.

It was an honour!
