🩺 In the PAUSE-2 pilot trial, perioperative management of DOACs in patients undergoing high-bleed-risk surgery or neuraxial procedures was found feasible. Both ASRA- and PAUSE-based strategies achieved similar pre-op DOAC levels, supporting a larger trial.

Central pulmonary embolism (cPE) is associated with a 2.2-fold increased risk of recurrent VTE, though not with overall mortality, compared to non-cPE. Short-term outcomes and PE-related quality of life were similar.

Using an ex vivo endothelialized model of HIT-induced thrombosis, this study demonstrates that IVIG significantly reduces thrombus formation and cellular adhesion triggered by HIT-IgG antibodies, validating the role of IVIG in HIT thrombosis.
