I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.

To recap, San Diego had possession the entire half. 0-0. Even less exciting than it sounds.

I cropped OP’s username, I don’t want them dunked on, please do not track them down.

However, I hear this A LOT.

What you might not know is that, esp in certain regions, (hi, Northeast US!) there’s a good chance your library IS a non profit

It sucks

Unpopular opinion but I think we can be anti-woo and still say yeah, this ephedra is for real, hook me up.
This will be a battle because there’s a lot of well meaning anthropologist types who really do believe it‘s racist to say that eg: traditional chinese medicine is mostly bullshit, but it’s a fight well worth having.
I'm all for woke 2 as long as we agree woo-woo is out, I want aggressively pro-science and medicine thanks

Next year on @thisdaypod.com we have a special series planned called "50 Weeks That Shaped America" -- we just recorded the first two episodes and I gotta say it's some of our best stuff yet. Not posting for any other reason than just to say I'm very excited! Can't wait to share them.

Another really remarkable thing about this is when Trump, for about 10 seconds in public, wrestles with the notion that the job he really wanted in politics was New York City mayor

I'm going to get something up Monday but in the mean time, y'all, IMLS got a *massive* win today.

The judge in the case between 21 states and the administration blocked further dismantling of the IMLS by Trump. It'll be appealed, but we've gotta take the Ws.

Older parts of San Diego enjoy a decent number of corner stores off of commercial corridors. What I'd like is a rule to allow those to grow into mini-clusters. "This lot is adjacent to a existing commercial use? That use is now an option here."

This but for pundits.

Ben Shapiro, replace these wiper blades.
It's not a foolproof plan but every political debate from now on should be a Normal Guy competition. Ask them to describe grocery shopping in detail. Talk about what it's like to have a friend

Good that the Coastal Commission is aware and ostensibly trying. But there’s a long way to go and leg needs to keep pushing. CCC has been basically hostile to coastal protection where transportation is concerned.

I got a tip a few months ago that ICE was planning to use tribal airports for ICE flights. I spent a few hours scouring flight data, found no evidence of this, and let it go.

But perhaps they all just said no? If anyone has more info, hmu on signal at gbrockell.44!
The definition of audacity: ICE asking WA tribes to host detention centers.

They got a very polite “fuck off.”

I say this very tentatively, I’m not in the research: the triumphalism of phonics is not universally accepted and not just by an old guard — there’s nuance and English spelling demands learning a LOT of counter technique

The median American takes 1 flight a year.

Any disruption of air travel is treated as a red line politically while so many other aspects of domestic policy fester without care.
