It’s nice not to be worried about how rapidly Bluesky is growing or if it’s too much or not enough like Twitter. My follower count is statistically identical to zero, so I’m just here to scroll and chew bubblegum, and I’m all out of bubblegum.
New fiscal year, new shop. Check out all the new swag at shop.npr.org. Some really fashion forward stuff, and I believe this is only the beginning. Great job everyone!

Hi, everyone. As you probably know, NPR lost its federal funding this year. So NPR Music is trying something new to keep the music playing: Tiny Desk Donations on YouTube.

If you’ve ever enjoyed our little series that could, please consider showing your support 2day: www.youtube.com/live/Q2CW9TZ...

For those of you asking where your donation can do the most good, this site is your answer. It's gonna take this kind of quick, creative problem-solving to keep public media working for everyone.
Last month, Congress voted to end public media’s federal funding. Now, local stations across the country are at risk of going dark.

That’s why we built adoptastation.org — a simple way to support a station in need.

Adopt one. Spread the word. Save public media.
It's tulips all the way down. I don't know how any article about a speculative bubble can completely avoid mentioning Dutch Tulip mania, the first one of these.
Tell your goofball that his spelling bee would take me weeks to solve. Weeks! 930 words with 53 pangrams!! He needs to watch out for that S and also for ER. The NYT (almost) never includes those combos, because how well they work.
It’s a favorite in our house. My oldest is big into puzzles, too. They do a lot of puzzle hunts.

Below are prices for different streaming services. Subscriptions range from $7.99/month to $95.99/month. These are *required* payments.

YOU CAN DONATE ANY AMOUNT YOU WANT TO YOUR NPR/PBS STATIONS. YOU’LL GET WAY MORE FROM THEM. THEY ARE PUBLIC SERVICES. INVEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY, NOT BILLIONAIRES.

There are actually a lot of journalists out there doing their jobs. All day, every day. Just look at the sites of any major newspaper, magazine or NPR.org.
NPR got a shoutout for adding the funding tag to podcast feeds. Nice when we can do something simple that might have a big impact. podnews.net/update/podca...

Tomorrow, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on whether or not to claw back federal funding for public media. Now is the time to act.

There's a lot going on with politics and public media, but NPR bringing back the intern program is a strong endorsement and investment in the next generation. Share, if you have a young person in your life who might be interested. www.npr.org/about-npr/18...

If you’re one of the thousands who gave this month – THANK YOU!

We love reading your comments about the role public media plays in your life, and are proud to be here for you.

If you want real drama, make them do the other’s decor, Trading Spaces style.
Even if I didn’t work there, I would still support public media as an alternative to for-profit news and cultural programming. Sharing this as far as possible.

A few days ago, President Trump issued an executive order seeking to block all federal funding to NPR, the latest in a series of threats to media organizations across the country.
