Gramps here, lecturing leftists who say the Dems can't change that in 56 it was aligned with Southern segregationists (who got the VP noms), but by 64 with MLK, because of successful social movement organizing. Take the party over, leftists. Else you're not actually involved in US politics.

As an immigration lawyer i literally had several undocumented clients who actually risked everything to return to Mexico to give birth there, among family and community, rather than in the precarious U.S. environment. The birth tourism narrative is such bullshit.

Just unspeakable assholery.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Why would you accept the premise of Donald Trump's lie and then lie FOR him to further advance his political project? None of this is true, why are you talking?
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

Wow. Mable Elmore could easily advocate for a Filipino cultural centre without defending Ken Sim. But i guess i should expect that kind of crap from a BCNDP member.
one of the more unexpected Vancouver political alliances has been NDP MLA Mable Elmore repeatedly posting pictures of Ken Sim and asking people to stop criticizing him

can't really think of a comparable in recent history, and shows the messy dynamics of the Filipino cultural centre debate

This being a war crime is hugely important, as is the attention on illegal orders. If Repugs lose badly in 2026, if Trump or Vance loses badly in 2028, do you honestly expect that the law will be followed? No, the law will be martial. And we will need troops to turn away in droves.

Oh good. Now homebuyers who are crushed by climate change can once again cry, "Nobody warned me!"
Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!
