Yeah me too altho I'm a bit careful about cream cheese.

And having a swig of coffee to discover milk's off & then retching with the disgusting taste of it is not fun. I still dont have much sense of smell after Covid so thats happened a few times🤬

I'm not fussy about most use by/best before dates.

Now about to drink an out of date chocolate milk drink. Only one day over the date. It's UHT milk so I'm sure it'll be fine.
In for a penny, in for a pound.

Yeah, I figured it would taste off if it was dodgy. But then natural yoghurt always does taste a bit off 🤔

I'm not too worried. I ate it knowing it was out of date but it was a favourite & I hate waste. I'm just not very good at keeping track of what's in my fridge 🙄😬

I struggled to get an NHS dentist in 2001, was on waiting list for months back then.

Recently moved earlier this year, on a waiting list & got seen after about a month, v surprised. But 4months on, I've now seen 3 different dentists 2 of whom hv left & had 1 filling which only lasted 72hrs.

I'm entitled to one, I'm just waiting for the dog to go then I can get to the country to sort out the paperwork.
But it's scary as I have no EU connections, no specific place to go, no resources except a 10 yr old van, no recent work skills, & health probs.
But my future in the UK is scarier.

Labour is now the Party OF millionaires for millionaires.

Millionaire MPs and Cabinet Ministers haven't a single clue what it's like out there for normal people.

Anyone who can't afford rent hike (mines going up by 8% but my housing allowance isn't going up) & issued S8 for arrears will be deemed intentionally homeless by councils & will have no chance of getting another private rental with bad credit & no guarantor.

I foresee homelessness getting worse.
November 12, 2025 at 11:30 AM
The RRA is likely to make things worse. Private landlords are issuing S21s now while they still can & already planning rent hikes to offset future costs & implementing stricter affordability vetting, accepting only employed tenants (even tho this isn't legal) & insisting on guarantors.

I don't think Lab can change course, there's no traditional Red Lab left now in the parliamentary party, or not enough to force change.

The way things are going in UK with no NOK, no resources, disabled, no one even to do POA, my future is grim. I have nothing to lose by trying to go to find a few years of something better before I end up in some cheap & abusive care home. I'm entitled to an EU passport so less restrictions.

Exactly. As I've just said in a post, turkeys voting for Xmas.

Just as happened with Johnson.

Without fundamental change, honesty, integrity, moral courage & true philanthropic leadership, the rot will continue becoming the norm, paving the way for Ref.

Politics is a vipers nest of corruption.

The problem that govts face is that using a stick instead of a carrot & making life harder for those at the bottom whilst withdrawing the means of giving them a leg up is economically & socially disastrous & will create further inequality & poverty.
November 12, 2025 at 8:35 AM
I have no plans, v limited resources, little chance of being ever able to earn an income I can live off. I've no idea where I'll go. But its a less scary prospect than staying in Ref UK.
I speak french pretty fluently but with long term health probs & at my age, I don't know how I'd support myself.

I think raising VAT so that everyone who spends money contributes in some way is far fairer & proportional than targeting the most vulnerable with severe cuts to income & support.
November 12, 2025 at 8:22 AM
Labour is using the poorest to pay for the corruption of those who made the mess, completely against trad Lab values.

I'm not sufficiently qualified or educated to a level at which I could determine national economic policy nor do I know the full facts. But I wouldnt target the most vulnerable.
November 12, 2025 at 8:19 AM
But with the UK parliamentary set up, to put that in place wd be like expecting turkeys to vote for Xmas & theres a lack of integrity at parliamentary level to act for greater good.

The Establishment has always put itself first. The Elite protects the Elite as the Elite has the power & £ to do so.
