being in my hometown tonight meant being in a new store I have never been inside and having a woman that I haven’t seen in 5+ years come over to say hi cause she recognized my voice

The world (academic and otherwise) is burning, but two of my favorite colleagues/friends defended their dissertations yesterday! Both are brilliant Hebrew Bible/Old Testament scholars. The world is better because Mary Dance Berry and Allison Wattenbarger are in it.
