Oh yeah I hate it! Especially the way it has metastasized from celebrating someone making a life-changing amount of money after working in (relative obscurity) to a general celebration of "cash windfall = good" regardless of any mitigating circumstances.

It has also become an ascendant philosophy as many cultural institutions have been hollowed out and replaced by advertising-as-cultural-product.
