Going through my pics, and thought I'd share some of the beginning process shots of making the Lady of Pain...
thermoplastic casting of the Lady of Pain's face from a clay bust. The primed face of the Lady of Pain fitted with her raw, unpainted blade crown made of black EVA foam and plastic substrate. The Lady of Pain's face and blade-crown, primed in black, with the lower most blades finished in gold leaf. The Lady of Pain's fae and blade-crown completely finished in gold leaf.

Hi, Winona! So great to see you here! I'd post the Snowmantle piece (the unicorn) I did in your class (still my fave digital painting), but you've seen that! So here's one of my new art passions, sculpture/puppet-making. The Lady of Pain was my first (and so far, only) large-scale piece.
Me (the artist) standing next to the seven-foot tall puppet/costume of the Lady of Pain character from the Planescape D&D setting. The Lady is wearing a red velvet robe, and her serene face, 'metal' mantle and bladed headpiece are faux bronze with a green patina.

I've rediscovered a yen for sculpture/prop-making, after the Lady of Pain, & I'm having a blast doing it for leisure. Here's a little (Huge in-scale) zombie T-Rex I did up for my unsuspecting players. Best $1.50 ever spent for a plastic T-Rex skeleton!

Some shots of the Lady of Pain, terrorizing players at PAXU this past weekend. This was my first puppet project, & sculpture commission, and I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of her (& possibly other puppets), at future cons. Truly an epic experience!
