It’s a shame, because Norway has an equivalent to Zelle called Vipps, and it’s evidently great. Probably helps that the largest bank in Norway, which manages it, is 34% owned by the government. Fast, free money transfer should be a utility, tbh.

I assumed that people using Zelle means larger, more consistent balances in bank accounts rather than in Venmo/Cash/PayPal, which I thought would be good for banks? Maybe it’s too small of an effect to care.

Yuck. Yeah, it’s such bad UX. I saw there was a dedicated Zelle app, but evidently it got axed as of like a week ago. It feels like it could just immediately make every other payment app moot, if it was just .. good. Better for both banks and customers. Sigh.

Does BECU not control the UI/UX of Zelle in their own app? 😔

There’s clearly tons of room to improve, but I don’t even know where to offer BECU this feedback? They clearly have multiple direct competitors, but it doesn’t feel like they’re even trying to compete.

HB 1296 wants to make the educational system safer and more supportive by providing privacy for student medical records from their parents and allowing them to receive medical care at school w/o notifying their parents, and require policies to protect trans students from bullying & harassment.
